Using Problem Attic to Make Science Worksheets

As a Chemistry teacher, I am always finding myself in need of new Regents practice worksheets.  Students need to practice chemistry concepts a lot in order to truly absorb the information and by using old Regents questions, we help students to interpret the question itself.  Understanding the concepts in chemistry can be hard enough for many of these students, but the wording of the Regents questions just adds another level of confusion for many students who may be able to explain the concept fully but whose literacy lakes the ability to answer those tricky multiple choice questions.  In a world where everyone in judged by the grades on standardized testing, as much as we teachers try to teach the concepts and not to the test, we still need to prepare them for the upcoming challenge.

Over the years, when I needed a new worksheet with practice problems, I'd ask colleagues, or use our testing software to make a test, that looks like a worksheet.  So now, when you look at my list of tests in my testing software, I can hardly find the past tests I need because there are so many other documents that clog up my account.  This is when I learned about Problem Attic.  Problem Attic has every type of state standardized test you could possibly need including National/International standards and Academic Competitions.  You can browse by standard type and then by topic and they just couldn't make it easier to compile these questions and format your worksheet to your liking!  You can even print out the answer key to make review packets for students. 

Using Problem Attic has rejuvenated the resources and review packets that I give to my students.  No more recycling the same worksheets I've been using for years!  It's never been easier to make my own without having to deal with the formatting issues that come from typing chemical symbols or equations myself.
